Barbie Forteza is Owning the Spotlight

By Len Armea

The year is far from over, but 2025 is already shaping up to be Barbie Forteza’s most remarkable one yet. GMA-7’s beloved Primetime Princess is on a winning streak, headlining two hit films, “P77” and “Kontrabida Academy,” while also leading the top-rated television drama series “Beauty Empire.”

The viewing public has watched Barbie grow up before their eyes. At just 12 years old, she first captured hearts as the young Rhian Ramos in the 2009 Filipino adaptation of “Stairway to Heaven.” Since then, she has steadily honed her craft, blossoming into a rare gem of an actress admired not only for her acting skills but also for her professionalism.

“Acting is my passion. I didn’t enter showbiz to be famous. I really joined because I wanted to be an actress. Acting is the very core of my life. I want to be respected not just as a celebrity, but as an actor. That’s why I really give my best,” Barbie enthuses.

In Her ‘Self-love’ Era

Earlier this year, Barbie, 28, began embracing a new chapter in her life, turning her focus toward self-love and self-discovery by filling her days with new passions and simple joys. The shift came shortly after her breakup with Kapuso actor Jak Roberto, her boyfriend of seven years.

Lately, she has also been linked to actor Jameson Blake, sparking rumors of a possible romance. Both remain silent on the speculation, but for now, Barbie seems content basking in the spotlight, balancing a thriving career, newfound passions, and perhaps even love.
