The magical realm of Encantadia returns to the small screen as four rising stars take on the legendary roles of the Sang’gres in “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre.” Bianca Umali, Faith Da Silva, Angel Guardian, and Kelvin Miranda each wield a powerful elemental gem, and with it, the hopes of a generation that grew up with the iconic fantaserye.
The Legacy Continues
In “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre,” Bianca takes on the role of Terra, keeper of the Earth Gem and daughter of Danaya. Faith ignites the screen as Flamarra, bearer of the Fire Gem. Angel commands the skies as Deia, the Air Gem keeper, while Kelvin channels the power of water as Adamus. Since its premiere in June, the series sparks buzz with surprising twists as this new generation of Sang’gres defends the kingdom from a formidable new villain, Mitena, played by Rhian Ramos.
In an exclusive interview, the four leads open up about stepping into roles rooted in Filipino pop culture history, their intense preparations, and the personal growth that comes with becoming part of the Encantadia universe, a legacy that begins with its 2005 debut, continues with a 2016 reboot, and now unfolds in a 2025 spin-off.
For Bianca, playing Terra feels like a dream she never dared hope for.
“It actually means the world to me,” she tells Filipino-Japanese Journal. “‘Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre’ is a dream I never thought I’d achieve, but it was given to me. Even before it aired, the fact that we finished it and we’re happy, that’s already a success.”
Kelvin mirrors the sentiment.
“I grew up watching ‘Encantadia.’ To be part of the legacy now is something I will always be grateful for,” he says. “I’ll never forget how GMA Network gave me this chance.”
