‘Taste of the Philippines’ Brings Filipino Cuisine to Osaka Diners

OSAKA – Filipino flavors are being introduced to Japanese diners as the Department of Tourism (DOT) Osaka and Jaja Bar at Canopy by Hilton Osaka Umeda launched “A Taste of the Philippines,” a two-week culinary promotion running from Dec. 5 to 19.

The promotion invites guests to experience Filipino cuisine through a curated menu featuring three well-loved dishes: Lumpiang Binondo, Adobo and Lechon Sandwich.

According to DOT Osaka, the dishes were developed to reflect contemporary dining styles while maintaining authentic Filipino taste and culinary heritage.

The initiative is part of the DOT’s “Love the Philippines” tourism campaign, which aims to highlight the country’s cultural diversity not only through travel destinations but also through food. By offering these dishes in Osaka, organizers hope Japanese diners will discover Filipino cuisine and be encouraged to visit the Philippines.

“This dining collaboration allows our Japanese friends to experience the heart of Filipino culture, our food, in a creative and accessible way,” said Jerome Diaz, Tourism Attaché for West Japan. “It is both a celebration of Filipino flavor and a warm invitation to visit the Philippines, where every meal tells a story of love, community and shared joy.”

Reservations for the limited menu are available through Jaja Bar. https://www.tablecheck.com/en/shops/osapypy-canopy-osaka-umeda-ja-ja-bar/reserve.
