TOKYO – There were an estimated 33,900 tourist arrivals from the Philippines last February, reaching 96.4% of the level recorded for the same month four years ago, before the novel coronavirus pandemic, preliminary figures released by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) showed on March 15.
In January, the Land of the Rising Sun welcomed about 29,700 visitors from the Southeast Asian country, 82.5% of the level for the same month in 2019.
Japan received approximately 1,475,300 overseas travelers last month, equivalent to 56.6% of the level recorded four years earlier. - Florenda Corpuz
