Filipino Visitors to Japan Higher than Before Pandemic in Jan-Nov Period

TOKYO – Filipino tourism in Japan grew by 2.2 percent during the January to November period, with an estimated 543,100 visitors, surpassing the figures recorded in the same period in 2019, before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), in November, 63,700 tourists from the Philippines visited the Land of the Rising Sun, closely trailing the 64,763 recorded in the same month four years ago.

The Philippines secured its position as the seventh-largest contributor to Japan’s tourism market in the last 11 months. - Florenda Corpuz
