Filipinos Secure Third Place as Japan’s Foreign Workforce Surges

TOKYO – The number of Filipino nationals working in Japan totaled 226,846 as of the end of October 2023, according to data released by the labor ministry on Jan. 26.

Filipino workers ranked as the third-largest foreign workforce in the country, following Vietnamese nationals who topped the list with 518,364, and Chinese workers at 397,918.

In total, Japan has 2,048,675 foreign workers, marking a 12.4 percent increase from the same period in 2022. - Florenda Corpuz
