Japan’s Marubeni, LSI Medience Launch COVID-19 Testing in the Philippines

MANILA/TOKYO – Trading powerhouse Marubeni and clinical testing firm LSI Medience have launched COVID-19 testing in the Philippines last April through their joint venture company, Medi Linx, in partnership with Metro Pacific Hospitals Holdings, Inc. (MPHHI), the largest private hospital operator in the Philippines.

According to Marubeni, the Medi Linx venture has established a COVID-19 testing environment that is able to process a maximum of 200 testing per day, making use of both testing equipment and people sourced locally in the Philippines.

“Medi Linx continues to proactively and passionately support COVID-19 testing,” it said in a statement.

Since the establishment of Medi Linx in 2017 at Makati Medical Center, one of the largest private hospitals in Metro Manila, Marubeni and LSI Medience have been jointly developing cutting-edge clinical testing services and have conducted intensive employee training.

“This work has contributed to the development of improved medical infrastructure which is essential to the health of society in the Philippines,” Marubeni said.
