TOKYO – Filipino workers in Japan reached a new high in 2025, government data shows, as employers continued turning to foreign labor to fill widening gaps in the country’s shrinking workforce.

MANILA – The Philippine government has tapped a ¥10 billion (about 3.7 billion pesos) disaster standby loan from Japan to fund response, recovery and rehabilitation efforts following widespread damage caused by Typhoon Tino, internationally known as Kalmaegi.

TOKYO – Japan welcomed 885,100 visitors from the Philippines in 2025, an 8.1% increase from the previous year, according to preliminary figures released by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO).
