PH MODE x TYO Unveils Cross-Cultural Collection at Tokyo Fashion Week

TOKYO – Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo (RakutenFWT) Spring/Summer 2025 season concluded with over 30 Japanese and international brands, including PH MODE x TYO by Manila Fashion Festival (MFF), showcasing their designs.

Marking their fourth appearance at RakutenFWT, PH MODE x TYO by MFF recently presented a runway show at the Tokyo Midtown Design Hub, serving as the opening event for “Finopinas: The Finest of Philippine Art and Design.” The 25S/S collection embodied the essence of Philippine fashion, featuring traditional handwoven fabrics paired with sustainable materials developed by Japan’s Stylem. This unique blend created a modern, cross-cultural fashion line under the theme “Wisdom and Insight Beyond the Material World.”

“Since 2022, we have been producing the cross-cultural brand ‘PH MODE x TYO by MFF,’ merging contemporary Philippine fashion with sustainable Japanese textiles,” said the event organizers.

“In addition with Stylem, we are also collaborating with Japan-based emerging fashion creators and the multi-artist collective, Movieing, known for its expertise in fashion shows and film production,” they added.

The MFF has been a premier fashion week in the Philippines since 2014. Beyond showcasing upcoming fashion collections, it has established itself as a key business platform for the fashion industry. - Florenda Corpuz
