Japan to Donate 2M AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccine Doses to Philippines

TOKYO – Japan will supply the Philippines with an additional two million doses of the novel coronavirus vaccine developed by British drug giant AstraZeneca PLC, Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi said in a press conference last Friday.

“These vaccines will be shipped from today onwards as soon as they are ready,” he said.

Last July, Japan has shipped 1,124,100 shots of domestically produced AstraZeneca COVID19 vaccine to the Philippines to help the country achieve herd immunity against the dreaded virus. - Florenda Corpuz
