TOKYO – The estimated number of Filipino tourist arrivals in Japan from January to November reached a record-breaking 710,100, the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) announced.
The figure represents a 30.7% increase compared to the same period last year and surpasses the previous annual record for visitors from the Philippines to Japan.
In November alone, 87,100 Filipino tourists visited the Land of the Rising Sun, marking a 36.7% year-over-year increase.
The Philippines ranks as Japan’s eighth-largest source of foreign visitors, behind South Korea, China, Taiwan, the United States, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Australia.
Overall, Japan recorded an estimated 33,379,900 foreign visitors during the 11-month period. - Florenda Corpuz
