TOKYO – The Philippines has secured its position as the sixth-leading contributor to Japan’s tourism market for the month of July 2023.
According to an initial report released recently by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), an impressive influx of approximately 51,700 Filipino tourists visited the Land of the Rising Sun during the past month. This figure signifies a remarkable 36.9 percent surge compared to the same period in the pre-pandemic year of 2019.
Japan’s tourism sector has been experiencing a steady upswing, having already welcomed more than 13 million foreign tourists in the first seven months of the year. - Florenda Corpuz
