TOKYO – Binibining Pilipinas International 2022 Nicole Borromeo is set to represent the Philippines in the 61st Miss International Beauty Pageant scheduled to take place at the Yoyogi Gymnasium No. 2 in Shibuya on Oct. 26.
The 22-year-old Cebuana model and host will vie against 69 candidates from various countries and regions worldwide for the Miss International 2023 title.
Borromeo, the first contestant to fly to Japan, is actively immersing herself in Japanese traditional culture. She is also participating in various pre-pageant events and activities as one of the “Goodwill Ambassadors of Beauty and Peace” leading up to the final contest.
In the previous year, Binibining Pilipinas International 2021 Hannah Arnold stood out as the only candidate from Asia who made it to the Final 15.
The Philippines has six Miss International winners to date: Kylie Verzosa (2016), Bea Rose Santiago (2013), Precious Lara Quigaman (2005), Melanie Marquez (1979), Aurora Pijuan (1970), and Gemma Teresa Cruz (1964).
