MANILA – Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte has announced her scheduled trip to Japan to attend Tuesday’s state funeral for slain former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at Tokyo’s Nippon Budokan Hall.
Duterte made the announcement on her Facebook and Twitter accounts last Sept. 21 after Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Kazuhiko Koshikawa visited her office earlier in the day.
The Vice President said she told the envoy about her intent to bring letters of condolences from her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, as well as current leader Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
