TOKYO – After being postponed for one year due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the Tokyo 2020 Olympics are set to officially kick off Friday with the opening ceremony taking place from 8 p.m. JST without spectators at the National Stadium in the Japanese capital.

Pfizer Inc. and its partner BioNTech SE announced on Thursday the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the International Olympic Committee to donate doses of the companies’ COVID-19 vaccine to help inoculate athletes and their delegations participating in the Tokyo 2020 Games.
