Tokyo Governor to Filipinos in Japan: 'Magtulungan tayo na maprotektahan ang ating mahal sa buhay'

TOKYO – Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike is urging Filipino residents in Japan to practice COVID-19 safety measures to avoid furthering the spread of the pneumonia-causing virus.

“Kahit tayo’s nasa mga pagtitipon at pagdiriwang, lagi pa rin nating isagawa ang paghuhugas ng kamay, pagsusuot ng mask, pagsunod sa social distancing, at pag-iwas sa Three Cs,” Koike said.

She stressed the importance of helping one another to protect the lives of families and loved ones.

"Magtulungan po tayo na maprotektahan ang ating mga mahal sa buhay ayon sa slogan na 'Iwasang mahawa, at huwag manghawa',” she told in a 40-second video that was uploaded on the YouTube channel of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) on Nov. 13.

Japan, which according to some health experts is experiencing a third wave of COVID-19 infections due to cold weather, has confirmed 1,708 new cases on Saturday. - Florenda Corpuz
