TOKYO – A further 14,207 new cases of novel coronavirus have been reported in Japan on Wednesday, the highest single-day count for the country, as the number of vaccination shots administered nears 97 million.
A total of 40,068,043 residents have been fully inoculated against the highly contagious virus, while 56,786,128 had received at least one dose of the two-shot Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna drugs, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
