Bea Patricia Magtanong to Compete in Miss International 2019 in Tokyo

TOKYO – Bb. Pilipinas-International 2019 Bea Patricia “Patch” Magtanong, 25, will represent the Philippines in the 59th Miss International Beauty Pageant to be held at Tokyo Dome City Hall on Nov. 12.

Patch, a law graduate from University of the Philippines, was among the 1,800 passers of the 2018 Bar Exams. Her advocacy is to promote the rights of prisoners.

The Bataan native will compete against more than 80 candidates from different countries and regions of the world for the Miss International 2019 title.

She will actively take part in experiencing Japanese traditional culture as well as participate in various Miss International-related events upon her arrival in Japan on Oct. 25 until the final contest.

Last year, Miss Philippines Ma. Ahtisa Manalo was crowned Miss International 2018 first runner-up.

The Philippines has six Miss International winners to date:  Kylie Verzosa (2016), Bea Rose Santiago (2013), Precious Lara Quigaman (2005), Melanie Marquez (1979), Aurora Pijuan (1970) and Gemma Teresa Cruz (1964). - Florenda Corpuz
