MANILA/TOKYO – Amidst his packed TV schedule, Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes decided to take a well-deserved break. Recently, he embarked on a short but delightful trip to Japan, accompanied by his wife, Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera.
“Bihira kasi ako magkaroon ng quality time with my wife and we went na kaming dalawa lang para mas maraming oras na nagkukuwentuhan. Para sa akin, I really treasure that,” Dingdong said in an interview with the Filipino-Japanese Journal during the recently held international media conference for the murder-mystery series “Royal Blood”.
The couple’s Japan adventure was filled with joy as they relished in the simple pleasures of life.
“Nakapunta kami sa Don Quijote and kung ano-ano pinagbibili namin, doon pa lang masaya na eh. Wala nang ibang kailangan gawin, bawat kanto maganda. Si Direk Dom may mga recommendations ng mga pagkain, iyong mga coffee shops na napuntahan nina Mikael and ni Megan dati. Ganoon lang, mga simpleng bagay. It was a much-needed short rest to give me that proper energy for the rest of the season,” Dingdong happily recalled.
During the interview, he also expressed gratitude to his fans in Japan and playfully entertained the idea of shooting a scene for “Royal Blood” in the country.
“Sa mga kababayan at kapuso natin sa Japan, maraming salamat sa patuloy na pagsubaybay sa ‘Royal Blood.’ Asahan niyo po na mas magiging exciting pa iyan at sana makapunta at makabisita ang buong cast diyan. Malay niyo, may season 2 and iyong opening pwedeng diyan gawin sa Japan. Hahanapin namin si Gustavo diyan, iyon pala nagtatago siya sa Japan,” he quipped.
Dingdong, who graced the cover of the July 2023 issue of Filipino-Japanese Journal magazine, expressed his fondness for Japan, making it evident that the trip left a lasting impression on the couple. - Len Armea, Florenda Corpuz
