TOKYO – Japan’s tourism from the Philippines has rebounded above pre-pandemic levels in June, according to a preliminary report by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO).
The Land of the Rising Sun welcomed 54,200 Filipino tourists during that month, marking a 15.7 percent increase compared to the same period in 2019.
In June, Japan recorded a total of 2,073,300 foreign tourists, with the Philippines ranking as the seventh-largest contributor to the country’s tourism market. - Florenda Corpuz
