Filipino Tourism in Japan Continues to Flourish

TOKYO – Japan’s tourism sector is experiencing a robust recovery as the number of foreign tourists visiting the country continues to climb. In April, the Land of the Rising Sun welcomed a total of 62,800 visitors from the Philippines, contributing to a substantial influx of 173,000 Filipino tourists in the past four months.

According to a preliminary report released by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) on May 17, the previous month witnessed the highest number of tourist arrivals from the Philippines since Japan reopened its borders to foreign independent travelers and other arrivals in October 2022.

The Philippines secured the seventh position among countries generating visitor arrivals in Japan’s tourism market for the previous month, indicating a significant interest in Japanese destinations among Filipino travelers. - Florenda Corpuz
