Filipino Tourist Arrivals to Japan in October Hit Post-Pandemic Peak

TOKYO – The number of Filipino visitors to Japan reached a post-pandemic high in October, with 69,200 arrivals—signifying a 368.4 percent increase from the same month in 2022.

In the past 10 months, an estimated total of 479,500 Filipino tourists visited Japan, which is 635.4 percent higher compared to the 65,200 recorded from January to October a year ago, according to a preliminary report released recently by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO).

Overall, the Land of the Rising Sun welcomed 2,516,500 foreign tourists last month, with the Philippines ranking as the seventh-largest contributor to the country’s tourism market. - Florenda Corpuz
