TOKYO – Japan hosted approximately 38,600 Filipino tourists in August, according to recent data released by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO).
This figure represents a 22.7 percent increase compared to the same month in 2019, before the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Last month, Japan saw a total estimated influx of 2,156,900 foreign tourists, with the Philippines claiming the position of the seventh-largest contributor to the country’s tourism industry. - Florenda Corpuz
