TOKYO – Our cover spotlights Kathryn Bernardo, Asia’s superstar, who not only exceeds expectations but also sets new standards.
On Sept. 21, she received a prestigious award at the 18th edition of the Seoul International Drama Awards in Seoul, South Korea, where she was hailed as the “Outstanding Asian Star” for her role as Ali in “2 Good 2 Be True,” a romantic-comedy TV series in which she starred alongside reel-and real-life partner Daniel Padilla.
Kathryn took great pride in representing the Philippines on the international stage, and graciously thanked the entire team involved in the series.
“I am so proud and humbled to be on this stage representing Filipino talent, and being a Filipina. This means so much to me. Again, thank you so much. And from the bottom of my heart, maraming, maraming salamat po,” she said in her acceptance speech.
“2 Good 2 Be True” was one of the most-watched Filipino series on Netflix, and marked KathNiel’s comeback in the teleserye format in 2022 after their fantasy-action series “La Luna Sangre” in 2017.
