OSAKA – “The Girl in the Orange Dress” starring multi-awarded actor Jericho Rosales and actress Jessy Mendiola is one of the three Filipino films competing in the Competition section of this year’s Osaka Asian Film Festival (OAFF), which takes place on March 8 to 17.
Jay Abello’s rom-com about Anna (Jessy), the mysterious girl in the orange dress, and showbiz superstar Rye (Jericho) will compete with two other films from the Philippines: “With All My Hypothalamus” by director Dwein Baltazar; and "Tanabata’s Wife" by Lito Casaje, Charlson Ong and Choy Pangilinan.
The said films will vie with 11 other Asian movies for the Grand Prix and Most Promising Talent Award.
Other Filipino films taking part in the 14th edition of OAFF are Samantha Lee’s “Billie and Emma” and “Eternity Between Seconds” by Alec Figuracion, which will be screened in the Special Programs (New Action! Asia) section.
It can be remembered that Rosales’ film “#Walang Forever” opposite Jennylyn Mercado and directed by Dan Villegas also competed in OAFF in 2016. - Florenda Corpuz
