TOKYO/MANILA – The Japanese government extended condolences to the Philippines over the death of former President Benigno S. Aquino III on Thursday.

TOKYO – The Japanese government ended on Sunday the novel coronavirus state of emergency for Tokyo and the prefectures of Aichi, Kyoto, Osaka, Hyogo, Okayama, Hiroshima, Fukuoka and Hokkaido. It will stay in effect in Okinawa until July 11.

TOKYO – Japan will supply the Philippines with doses of the novel coronavirus vaccine developed by British drug giant AstraZeneca PLC, Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi said on Tuesday.

MANILA – The Philippines on Friday got its second batch of 2,279,160 Pfizer-BioNTech novel coronavirus vaccine from the COVAX Facility, the National Task Force Against COVID-19 (NTF) announced.
